Compass Life Sciences supports Mental Health awareness Week

The Compass Life Sciences Team, along with all Compass Holding Group partner brands, are getting involved with Mental Health Awareness Week. Employee mental wellbeing is incredibly important to Compass Life Sciences and as a result of this, Compass Life Sciences have invested in training a number of employees as Mental Health First Aiders. Allowing employees across all Compass brands to have the confidence to talk openly about mental health in the workplace.

According to the Mental Health Foundation, 1 in 6 people in the past week experienced a common mental health problem. Poor mental health is currently the biggest cause of employee sickness absence across the UK. This is why it is so important for us to ensure that we look after our mental wellbeing.

The Mental Health Foundation have set nature as the theme of this year’s Mental Health Awareness Week. Nature has played a critical role in our mental health during the pandemic which is why the theme was chosen.

Studies have shown that going for walks outside was one of people’s top coping strategies during the lockdowns. 45% of people involved in these studies reported being in green spaces had been vital for our mental health.

All employees at Compass Life Sciences, including Compass Holding Group, are actively getting involved by doing a clean up of their local beaches and greenspaces so that we can all carry on enjoying nature. Nature is an important need for many and vital in keeping us emotionally, psychologically and physically healthy.
